Should they or shouldn't they???

The Government had proposed the idea of scrapping 2 public exams ie UPSR & PMR. As usual, certain parties bowed down and welcomed the move while others feel that the examinations should stay. People, what is your take on this suggestion?

  1. i think that too much exams will give unnecessary stress to the students.. they could just demolish pmr like what they did to pts.. i think a final exam is enough to keep the students grounded and to keep them studying..but this issue is really an on-going issue..hope the decision will be made soon.. ^^.

  2. well..in my opinion, exam is one of the tool to evaluate students performance through the whole year..so,how's the students are going to be evaluate if there is no examination.. maybe they shouldn't demolish the exam but change the qualification of the exam..60% on exam and 40% curriculum??

  3. First of all, a big Hi to u bro... Hope u remember me...
    Coming to the topic...

Well this idea got its advantages n disadvantages...

    Advantage:-
The biggest advantage is there will be less pressure on students. It will avoid students from being tortured by the parents to get the best ranking and all A's in their subjects. So this will create a new objective for the students to learn which is "Learn to gain knowledge" rather than "Learn to get A's"...
This will create more students with high intelligence. Students will learn how to fish rather being dependent on people to feed them the fish... This will be definitely the biggest advantage of this idea.

    Disadvantage:-
As we all know, if this idea is implemented the system to evaluate students wouldn't be there. So the students themselves wouldn't know where they stand. So in order to avoid this confusion, school based assignments should be given to the students. Base on the level of performance on their assignments, the teachers could guide the students to be better.
Besides that, the education system should not be very theoretical. They should come up with more practical studies. If this could be done, then teachers could identify students who are not good with studies but good at skills. So teachers could train them to sharpen their skills and when they are out of school, they will be a skillful craftsmen, artist, or etc.

But if at all they want to implement the idea of no more UPSR and PMR, then they should train the teachers first. The teachers should be competent enough with the new education so that they could give their best to the students.
